DUNSA organizes many activities, which can be informative as well as social. Usually we have an informative activity every Wednesday evening. This informative activity can be a lecture, forum, symposium or debate. This activity is followed by drinks at Café de Uyl van Hoogland. We also have activities on other days of the week at a regular basis. Besides the informative activities, we also have a lot of social events, of which drinks are the most common; but we also organize game nights, pubquizes, movie nights and other social activities. Take a look at the schedule on our website or our Facebook page for our upcoming events.
While you are free to attend most of the informative activities without a membership, for most of the social activities – except for the weekly drinks at Café de Uyl van Hoogland – you do need to be a member of our association. Furthermore, if you want to become part of one of our 21 committies or 'disputen' (social groups), you also need to be a member. Finally, participation at our study trips is also exclusively for members of our student association. Note that within the committees and 'disputen' Dutch is the primary language.
DUNSA has many trips each year. This includes a small trip to a destiniation in Europe such as Moscow, Warsaw, Berlin and Lissabon, and a big trip to an destination outside Europe, this summer we went to Singapore and Malaysia, and last year the trip went to Washington D.C. and New York City. Every spring we visit Brussels and the many governmental institutions located there, as well as the touristic hotspots like 'Manneken Pis' and SIB's favourite bar.
We also have two membership-weekends, the first one is in the last weekend of september and focusses on our new members who have the chance to get to know one another better. The other weeekend is for all of our members. This second weekend focusses on games, food, socializing and drinking beer.
